I was born in Bremerhaven, Germany in 1965. Growing up in a family of musicians, making music was part of my world. At school I was equally interested in technology. After completing school I started apprenticeship as a radio and television engineer to finally graduate in Nuernberg as a recording engineer. That profession was to perfectly combine my passion for music and technology.

But things turned out differently. I moved from Frankfurt to Berlin and quickly made contacts with its music scene. I emerged into the world of studio productions which at the beginning of the Eighties were experiencing big changes. I went back to Frankfurt and created my own recording studio. At the beginning of the Nineties I started my own music productions such as S&K. I also provided services such as theater music, CD mastering and digital remastering of various albums of ZZ Top, Janis Joplin, Cat Stevens. Subsequently I started the music projects DJ Kirk with the Hit "Sing It" and Kirk Monteux with the Album "Via Lucis".

Besides my work in the recording studio I also participated as engineer in various kinds of diverse projects, such as installation of theater and radio direction, light and sound engineering at trade fairs and artistic-technical direction of beach club Parties.

In the course of time I discovered my fascination for visual media of all kind. Via workshops and technical literature I skilled myself in design and the creation of print media. The project “Via Lucis” was my first highlight: art and music were combined into an audio-visual experience on DVD.
